DCT stuck in 1st gear-SORTED Thank you.

So...just got my front tyre balanced and now my AT DCT is stuck in 1st gear with the engine light on permanently??
Help please, I need to ride it home.

"Have you checked the ABS sensor? It looks like the bike does not read it, i.e. the bike "thinks" it is stopped, hence you can't insert gears.

I found a shop manual on line last night and it talked about being in first gear if the speed sensor went out and such. I put the flanged wheel spacer on the right side, which caused too much gap between the speed sensor and the pulsar disc, where it is suppose to be on the left side. Runs like a charm again. If you hear some strange "clicks" (similar to when the bike changes gears) when switching on, try rolling the bike back and forth with the ignition on or if you have a centre stand try rotate the back wheel manually.

Could be the ABS sensor yes.

Sorry Guys, been off line for a while.
It was the flange or something that was keeping the wheel too far from the sensor. Wheel was not put back exactly the way it should have been. Not 100% sure, but it took a few minutes to sort out. The engine light stayed on for a few stop and starts and went off on it's own though.

Had a friend of mine with the same problem. Asked him was it fine till when?

His reply " Till I had a puncture"
Me " Front or back"
Him " Front"
Me "You put it in the wrong way round !"

Turns out he did and the pulse disc was on the wrong side in relation to the sensor.

Problem solved!
