« on: December 18, 2020, 02:36:46 pm »
Hi all. Its great to be on this page.  I have bought a 2017  701 from my nephew  . Thanks Gregg.  It has 14300kms on the clock. Came with a Akro, Rade long range tank and pannier frames.Like i am ,I have been going through this bike top to bottom. And adding more bits. Thanks to Big Dom. I have been picking his brain a lot. Thanks mate for your help.

Yesterday i fitted a AXP bashplate and folding mirrors . Still to come. KTM white barkbusters. New Dunlop D606 Tyre ,Golan fuel filter and a side stand by pass dongle. I have fitted a magnet in the mean time but don't trust it. And of course the bike fell off the stand while i was fitting new front brake shoes. So i went and bought the pit stand.

@ianb ,

Before you get all yer farkles, FIRST get a Guglatech filter for your tankfiller: no more rubbish goes in, and this includes water you will inevitably pour in your tank when filling up at a petrol station >>>> thus loadsa potential problems minimized!  :thumleft:
Then go farkle to your heart's content  ;)

I also have a 701, yer gonna lurv the bugger  :P

Rather buy their newer filter for the actual fuel pump. The main filler filter is a big PIA - fine on the R/G underseat tank but irritatingly slow to fill the main tank and I had one fall into the tank (we have them on two 701's on both tanks).

Further: If you do not have one yet get a fuelling dongle - sorts out the lean running at low revs and the on/off throttle response (exacerbated with the Akra and R/G airbox). A PCV is first prize but the Rotty fuelling dongle is a good start.

Fitted the rack at the back. I will be making a few racks that will be better than this.
