Has anyone replaced the oil Temp sensor themselves? Done. Not too bad.

So after a lot of back and forth and a full diagnostics scan/report at FAST, KTM Austria is refusing to replace my oil temp sensor.  The Bike IS just out of warranty, so fair enough, but I was hoping that because it's a fairly well known problem they'd help out but no such luck.  It has played up on and off for a while even while it was under warranty, so my bad for not acting sooner as well.

So anyway, I figured if the warranty wasn't covering it, there's no reason to pay KTM's hourly fee to put a new one in.  I'll buy the part and do it myself.  Asked FAST about stock today and they don't have anyway, but they then said I'd have to bring the bike to them to "code the new sensor in" anyway.

This sounds like unecessary, surely voltage in and out is voltage in and out and swapping in a new sensor shouldn't change anything?  2018 SAR if anyone has any info?
