CRF230 - skimming the front disc?
« on: January 04, 2021, 11:52:16 am »
Hi Guys, just a question because I haven't really dabbled with brakes that much. My CRF230's front disc seems to be warped, reason being the front wheel grabs at certain points when it rotates. You can feel it pushing the bike and when you lift the front wheel and rotate it by hand.

Can I have the disc skimmed to get the warp out or will I have to purchase a new disc?

Cheers

Rather a new disc.... These are so thin to start with.

Metal Gear should be able to sort you out...

I can get you a good quality "wave" aftermarket disc for under a grand. Just contact me if you are interested

I'm not sure you can skim bike discs. They are thinner and made of different material to car discs.

That is correct. You can't skim those discs

One can have them "ground", but the engineering shop willing to do this will charge you more than a good aftermarket disc will cost. Phone Superfoxi.
