I am just wondering why someone would want to sponsor a team that's not going to feature in the top 5 or 3 depending on the class he or she is going to enter at the Dakar?
For the love of the sport or participant yes, but not for TV or other coverage!
Unless you go pay for streaming on special channels you get no coverage unless your sponsored participant goes and does something really good or has an really big oeps and that coverage will last 15sec, once of!
TV coverage in SA is 25min and that with a tour round Saudi, an interview and 5 x 2 min per class, done!
Like I said, for the love of the sport or participant and yes your immediate environment may know about it, but a real return on investment if you spend more on it than a few stickers is not going to happen!
ASO also organize the "Tour the France" and that we can/should sit and watch the whole day! Ok, there are more bicycles than motorcycles in the world!
