Yes, a new-ish rider, inexperienced, over bad terrain, and this happens quickly.

But let us face facts, the KTM clutches do not handle half the abuse that the Jap ones can.

Broad stroke statements don't highlight facts.

Fact is, ktm enduro and mx bikes have the best clutches in the business.
That's been the case for over a decade now.

Fact is that Japs are now copying those clutch designs

People don't ride their flower smelling, poorly suspended, over weight Jap adventure bikes into the hardcore places.
Its mostly KTM adventure bikes that go there and if the rider can cope, so will the clutch

Bit of a misguided comment. No bike can run on water and when they put clean fuel in back at the bivouac it started and ran fine.
- you reckon that thing will pop a wheelie? We're about to find out, SLAP that pig!

Of the 3 bikes that went on this route, the little XT250 aircooled single was the only one that made it 100% unscathed. OK, it's not overweight, but the place is hardcore. :pot: :ricky: :snorting:

Misguided?  How contaminated was the fuel, if the bike was not allowed to continue the next day?

Jy maak daai comment so as of die bike fout gehad het... Dit is hoekom ek die woord misguided gebruik het. Daar was niks fout met die bike nie behalwe vir 'n moerse klomp water in die brandstof.

Provided by the race organisers by the way, the team had FA to do about it.

Interesting how the other bikes managed to complete the stage on water.

As they all drank from the same poisoned well
