So my speedo cable broke at the bottom end a while ago.
I had it remade and reinstalled it: first the top square bit; turning the bottom end by hand; getting small amount of feedback on the speedometer- indicating that it works...
Secondly I inspected the gear in the hub. All looks fine & I regreased all.
Thirdly I screwed the bottom part (spade end) of the cable into place, making 100% sure it is seated correctly.
Pushing the bike out of my garage the speedo works (<5km/h) but then once I start riding it stops working.
Took it back in the hgarage, Unscrewed bottom part, tested again by hand, seated again, works again on slow speed and stops working after riding 50m....
Did this a third time... same effect...
Now I’m puzzled. Am I missing something obvious?
Was the cable re-made a bit to short?
