They were coming back from meeting some army buddies for the 14 Feb thing.  I was trying to phone from 11 am to join but couldnt get hold of them.  they had some cellphone problems.  Was eben and Rietjie on the back and Kobus Jerling with them.  oke did a fast uturn without looking.  fortunately they got a red robot and was still accelerating to speed - 2 gear stuff.  Oke had no chance, even kobus hit him with his shoulder on the back without going down.  Rietjie's arm is broken (she was airborne for 6m says Kobus).  Seems Ebens pelvis is broken - but is stable and not in any danger.  Kobus helped with getting them to hospital, got the old toppie's details and is now in Eben 's house sorting out toiletries abd his animals.  on his way back to the hospital.  dont know which hospital though.  hospital's no is 0124422484 - he is in ward 14 --its Eben Pretorius.  hopefully he will have a phone in due course.

PTA East hospital. 2km from accident scene.

Ek vind weer 'n groot probleem deesdae is al die karre het donker vensters en jy kannie die drywer se gesig gesien om te weet of hy in jou rigting kyk nie.

Ek aanvaar maar niemand kyk vir my, of sien my raak nie, en gaan voor my inry.
...dis nooit te laat om n happy childhood te he nie !

Build a sidecar they said. It will be fun they said. Ja-nee !

Jammer om te hoor van die ongeluk , en ek is bly om te hoor dat julle met geringe beserings onder die omstandighede daarvan afgekom het.

Sterkte Eben en Rietjie, ek hoop julle hestyel gou en volkome.

These kinds of moving violations are just not policed effectively and harshly enough. Having caused this kind of accident the driver should immediately be booked for dangerous and reckless driving. Anarchy is rife on the roads and not just taxi drivers ... as evidenced here.

Sterkte Pielas. :thumleft:
