Motorcycle riding in the Netherlands
« on: February 15, 2021, 11:53:04 am »
Hey,
The corona crisis is now happening all over the world, so international adventure travel is not possible now.
I live in the Netherlands and make YouTube motorcycle videos together with my son. Unfortunately our videos are now only about driving in the Netherlands.
But maybe it would be nice for riders from South Africa to see how we ride motorcycles in the Netherlands.
If you find that interesting, take a look at our YouTube 'Motormobilist' channel on
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7otpMkkVKqR3SyQiVy6ehw

Regards,

Jan Krijtenburg
The bike I ride is a nice red 1995 BMW R850R (not a GS)

Great, as both my kids are living in the Netherlands now, I'll watch with interest.

You have a beautiful country, and Amsterdam is outstanding.

I live about 150 km south of Amsterdam, in an even more beautiful part of the Netherlands ;-)
In the near future, my son and I will make a video about the old center of Bergen op Zoom,  the city close to where we live. The city is about 800 years old so there are some nice old buildings.
At this moments all bars and restaurants are closed because of the lockdown but you're always welcome for a beer or a coffee on a terrace in Bergen op Zoom when you visit the Netherlands :-)

So you're there now?
If so congrats - and yes I will, at least if I have not to pretend I'm Danie but rather can remain myself.

That is very different from riding in the Netherlands ;-)
I love riding in  South Africa. I have been there twice, the first time I rented a BMW R100RT and the second time I could use my uncle his Harley Lowrider. (unfortunately my uncle died in a motorcycle accident a few years ago when a car driver 'did not see him'  :'(  )

This afternoon, I published another Motormobilist video.
It is about a solo motorcycle ride from Ravenhof Castle in Putte on the Belgian border, through the nice scenery of the Brabantse Wal past Bergen op Zoom and then back home.

The video is in Dutch with English subtitles.
