Privileged to have been invited on another of @Just Blip It!  ‘s  amazing trips. This time to Guernsey Nature reserve bordering the Timbavati

We rode, we laughed, we got heatstroke .....and had the time of our lives!

We met at Wimpy in White River on Fiday morning and after a quick coffee and breakfast, we were on our way.

We started out with some forestry roads just outside WR. A few minutes later I had a flat rear tyre. My MotoZ had been pierced by a nail. Mark skilfully changed out my tubes and soon we were on our way again.

We underestimated the effect the recent rains had on the terrain we were planning to ride on day one. We encountered water, mud and deep ruts as soon as we head into the bush

Somewhere during the morning, I have my first off with the Rally. Spun out the rear while chasing Japie on some twisty sandy tracks and nearly took him out in the process. Eugene apparently has it all on film and nearly rode over me coming from behind. Will have to see what it looks like on video

We knew that there would be damage to the the fence road. The short bit we rode was almost impassable in several spots

It was getting extremely hot. Byron was exhausted with a heart rate hovering at around 180 bpm. We head for Numbi Gate to replenish our water supply and Byron would head to our destination on tar from there

Mitchels pass in Hogsback often looks like your pics.

How did it get the name btw? For a moment I thought you were on Geurnsey island, dad was born there.

Jeep track where we usually chased each other through sweeping bends were now littered with deep ruts and drop offs

We arrived at a section where a stream became a river and swept the road away. There was a drop of about 2m down to the bottom of the riverbed with a step roughly halfway down. The opposite side was rideable

It didn’t take Mark long to decide we were crossing this obstacle
