300km ride. Road washed away in 1 or two spots where we need to assist each other and now we need 500s just in case?

Riders in our usual riding group are more than capable of taking these bikes through some gnarly terrain. And the bikes are more than capable too. That’s just how we all prefer to ride.

Sure, there’ll come a time when my body will not be able to cope with a big bike and at that point a 500 or smaller may be my bike of choice. Having said this, I was the youngest rider on this trip. Muffin Man in his sixties and Mark, Japie etc in their fifties. All of them much better riders than me and still able to take a big 990 where most on here will not dare take a 500

RRs tend to consist of pics taken in slow tech stuff as that’s when you have the opportunity to get off your bike and get your phone out to take some pics. This can easily lead to a misconception that our whole route looks like this when in actual fact we ride on open dirt, sand and tweespoor for most of the route.

Nice ride and Report! Thanks for sharing! Wow seeing a couple of the guys wearing ADV jackets and full body armour (that one piece thingie) man that must have been Hot!
