We rode from Cape Town just before the sun came up. I had been on a ride through Ceres the pervious weekend so I knew that there was a nip in the air, so I checked the weather report and it said 19 degrees.. bakgat, ill leave in the cold but it will warm up, or so I thought. There was a lot of thick fog on the way there making the temp plummet so numb fingers was the order of the day.

I usually go up to Kaleo with the Miss as she loves the place and the people , but due to an unexpected event she stayed behind and a boys weekend was on the cards. Kaleo will not let you book a place for just the Sat night, but if you wait until Friday before booking, and if they have space available, they will let you stay for one night,

Arriving at just before 10am it was evident that Specialised Adventures and Honda were on the ball with everything already setup, within minutes we were all sorted and riding off to find out what awaits us.

Kaleo offers some really nice technical riding , more suited to a smaller bike but so much fun on the big bikes as well.. After 2 loops of the track setout for us, it was time to take a break from the instructors with score sheets & time for a kuir, braai and kak praat. With so many awesome okes all with the same passion in one place it made for a fantastic afternoon of checking out bikes and swapping stories from our last adventure.

Most of the guys had long roads home so departures were the order of the day except for a few of us who stayed the night.. the remainder of the afternoon was spent prepping a braai and riding some trails..

Big thanks to Honda and Specialised Adventures for organising and all the effort made to give adventure riding a bigger footprint in SA.

Nothing like a sunset, beer and a braai to end a day of riding

As far as I know the government has asked Honda-SA to postpone it with around two months because of covid.

Thanks Pieter
Almost true - The whole automotive industry has been asked to avoid possible spreader situations like launches etc. - Not just Honda.
From a Honda PR point of view it would be risky to host an event and end up with a situation where people get infected.
It will be worth the wait though - and we will give updates as we get them.
