Fitting a Ktm 690 adventure screen on Husky 701
« on: March 05, 2021, 11:43:57 pm »
For a short term measure I am considering this option but the Ktm screen shape is quite different from the standard Husky screen.

Any ideas or suggestions for the best way to make this work please?
Photos will also help making this fitment less of a mission

Fitted with long bolts with nuts on the inside of the white light cowling.
Fuelling rubber pipe was cut short length en fitted over the bolts to act as a type of
schock absorber between the screen and the white panel.

Thanks Operator, this is the info I was looking for.

How tall are you, are you happy with the height of the screen? Did you mount it as high as possible so that the two top bolts sit at the top of the white plastic?

Please send me a pic of the inside where it mounts to the white plastic part if you donít mind?

1,72 m tall. It is not a perfect solution, but does help. Everything is fine up to around 125 km/h, then suddenly aerodynamics becomes an issue. Not a perfect solution, but it address 80 % of my aero needs

Phone me on 0836539600 to discuss or send whatsapp and I will send photos of inside of white panel

Remember that the 701's "number board" around the headlight is fixed to the bike in a much sturdier fashion than the one on the 690's.

A screen fixed to the 690 number board may not be that sturdy.

Noted, I am trying to fit the 690 screen on the 701 with the standard 701 number board/ light

I bought my 701 with a screen fitted by the agents, Eddy2race.

I removed it because it fits onto clamps that goes onto the handlebars, but for the screen brackets to clear the headlight numberboard, the screen points too far back, and when you stand, it was inches from your

visor. It would work well with handlebar raisers, which I hate.
