One ordinary day, one phone call …. “Chantal: Hi Annemien, would you like to join us on a tour as a crew member? ”
-   I think I fell flat on my face, and I still pinch myself to remind myself that I am not dreaming!

I am extremely honoured for the opportunity to work with Specialised Adventures. I had the experience as a Quest contestant to view this operation from a different angle, this time I am part of the crew, to make this experience memorable for the riders.
I am looking forward to keep Chantal company at the border queues and travelling at max 90km/h to absorb the surroundings. I am already sharpening my Tetris skill to assist Hennie with packing the Unimog.
The tour groundwork, not a surprise, but it is quite an operation behind the scenes to get everything in order. Hardy and Chantal make it look so easy. I want to refer to some well-oiled machine expression, but the feeling/experience you get when spending time with this team, it is much more than just a machine and I will get the non-oil spill brand(s) wrong.
The one thing that stands out (also part of the Quest experience) is the group dynamics, selecting the crew ( I mean, I still cannot believe I will be part of it) and the riding group itself, I believe they are going to have a great amount of fun!

Beautiful Namibia, cannot wait to venture the extreme terrain of the Koakoland.

Keeping the body hydrated is a must, dehydration and or heat stroke is not a fun experience.

Typically, if you stop perspiring, it's often too late in extreme temps, you'll suffer spasms, cramps, etc., and can die.

Even in the extreme cold that I experience here in the winter, one must stay hydrated and caloric intake or the body will suffer hypothermia.
