Our group was small to start with and guys started dropping out in the weeks leading up to the event.

Participants were:

Duan on a 690

Mark @Just Blip It! on 2x 990s

Saay joined us on the second day on his 690

Duan flew in from Tanzania to OR Tambo and then had to drive to Nelspruit where he arrived just after midnight

I met up with Pierre and Emile in Nelspruit at around 5pm and we rode to Klipspringer Lodge together

After less than 4 hours of sleep, I woke at 5am and was happy to see that everyone was ready to depart for White River at 6:20 to meet up with Mark for a breakfast before we start the riding for the day.

As per Pierre’s original post in the Planning A Ride section, the idea of the weekend was to take these bikes on some technical routes to see what they are capable of...... and of course do it with like minded people and enjoy the social interaction as well.

As a group, most of us have never met. I met Trevor on a Namibia trip, rode with Bart recently. Pierre, Emile and Duan have been friends for years, but have never met any of us.

Mark had an issue with his 990 revving high because of a faulty TPS. The decision was made that he would head home, get one of his other 990s and meet up with us again at a shebeen. It was a bit early for beer, but I think most of us improved our pace after the hour long wait.....
