Yes it is (or rather was) I had a small  off which caused the fairing mount to fail and caused more damage than it is worth.

I will not be replacing it.

Oh no.

Damage to the forks or only to the mount?
the Truth will offend at first

No thankfully not a mark on the forks - but same canít be said for several other parts in the cockpit area, had it not failed I recon I would have got away with almost zero damage

A small update.

Replaced the stock sprocket cover with something a little more open, which should make it easier to keep clean and an eye on things.

Although the main reason is to add a slightly beefier case saver, I have read a few cases of chain damage to the cases on these bikes.

People complain that this bike is too heavy for a 450, but itís all the little things Honda added to add strength where necessary, to make the bike feel more solid, and to quiet things down.  I cleaned up the sprocket cover I removed and discovered this rather heavy duty rubber dampening - and yes there now considerably more drivetrain noise without it.

Trip prep, time to ditch the budget stock no-ring chain +- 3000km and itís done.

and while we are at it, may as well try a gearing change, to allow for slightly lower revs at cruising speed.  A 48 DirtTricks sprocket, down from the OEM 51.

Careful not to go too wide with the replacement chain.

All done

I think Honda specíed this chain as std on all 450 models and with the other models you are probably not going to stick with stock gearing for long depending on how you intend to use the bike.

Like the stock tyres - they work but there are better options.

Well we didnít end up where we planned, big rains hit the area we intended to go, so we headed north into the Karoo in an attempt to dodge the forecast heavy rains.
