Thanks for everyone's comments and feedback. I really enjoyed this ride and hope I can convey some of the emotions en experiences I had. Sometimes I wish I still had a proper camera but sharing becomes a pain in the butt then.

Your photos are amazing and really show how beautiful South Africa is. Schade das Du nicht nach Süd West könntest, (my favourite section was always the C13 along the Orange River from Noordoewer, past Felix Unites’ Camp to the Sendlingsdrif turnoff, before going up to Aus, past Rosh Pinah, and to camp at Klein Aus Vista, if one was lucky enough to get a camp site), but South Africa has some of the best gravel riding roads and scenery – in my opinion.

One always meets so many like-minded people at the camping grounds, if one approaches them. A road trip like yours also makes one very familiar with one’s bike and camping kit. One then knows what works, what one can improve on and what to leave behind.

Thanks again for the time you took to put this RR together, it takes much effort, and enjoy future trips. There is always so much to explore!

Ek verduidelik dit so: ek geniet my tee. Dis amper so 'n ritueel. 2 suikers, melk. In my beker.

Dinktyd.

:thumleft:

You are welcome @Dustbiter. I hope I didn't make you too homesick  :)  Yes that route you describe is indeed a beautiful one, it may well have changed since I was last there but the scenery remains timeless.

Thanks for the share Dors. What a lekker RR.

Your slugline in blue says it all @McSack   Go do it.  It may not always be there and we may not always be able to do it.  I may not even have another 10 years to do solo camping trips like this.

Go do it.

My eerste instink is hardgebakte skalie (oorspronklik moddersteen). Dis op kleur en veral the brokkelrige verwering.
Tweede keuse is baie fynkorrelrige doleriet (m.a.w., van 'n dun gang of plaat).
