Spent some time today cleaning and polishing the bike after last Sunday's long gravel trip
Then a quick ride to air-dry everything

I dove past this nice looking gate yesterday.
The image appears to be laser-cut.

So, this morning whilst cleaning the garage, I came across a piece of plastic that had a nice shape   >:D
First order of business was to heat up the plastic to give it a slight curved shape.
I quickly fabricated two brackets out of some scrap metal that I had lying around.
Next came the mounting of the DIY screen to the bike.
Went for a quick test ride and there is definitely a lot less wind on my upper body. I think it looks nice as well.
I will have to fabricate sturdier brackets as the current ones are too flimsy which makes the screen vibrate a bit.
Not something I will keep on the bike permanently but it is a quick install for those days when I have to ride long tar sections.

That 36kml sounds very impressive. What sort of riding was that?

And what range on your stock tank would you expect to get on standard gravel travel?

Ons het 'n bietjie meer as 100mm reŽn gedurende Desember gehad en dit het die veld mooi groen gemaak

@the ruffian
I did about 150km on open farm roads (see pics posted on 29 Nov) and about 40km of tar
Speed was around 80km/h most of the time
I regularly go around 190 - 200km before the low fuel indicator starts to flash and then there is still around 1.3lt reserve left in the tank which is good for another 40km I guess
I have seen consumption of 31km/l if I am constantly on the throttle in loose sand and single track or high speed tar riding

This morning's ride
I stopped at this very same low level bridge on 17 Aug 2021 (see 2nd photo)
The CRF was then only facing in the opposite direction
