Thanks Halfdaft...
« on: June 15, 2021, 01:14:42 pm »
Took a little tumble on the XR Sunday past while playing out with some friends, could have been worse if not for a nice little piece of kit from Halfdaft bought a few years back... The gearlever would have punched a hole straight through engine casing without it...  :'(

Well worth every cent it cost at the time....did its job, thanks Richard....  :thumleft:

Fortunately no injury to rider thanks to good kit, and bike otherwise OK except for some character stains on the sidecover... ;D

whilst I swopped bikes to assist a mate riding his crappy 1050 up Basters he did exactly that and put a very fine hairline crack in my casing
Richard what do these covers cost?

I had a customer drop his 650 at a standstill and he knocked a hole in the cover , I cut out a 6mm aluminium plate to shape , did a bit of panel beating and welded it in place , worked great but Richards version looks much neater

@Halfdaft  - but I will WA him now and tell him to regain focus - IF I could tell you what he is busy with, there would be a number of jealous people, but I cannot get him to work past 11pm doing a build report.....

Roxtar,

Thanks for the compliment. I have one guard left in stock waiting for your payment ;)

Edgy,

They're R1,079.00 VAT inclusive, but excluding shipping. If Roxtar takes that one then delivery would be about 4 weeks from now.

CT,

Thanks, if I were to do all the build reports, I wouldn't have time to do the builds.

Does it fit the XR 400 as well or only the 650?

I don't think so Lars, the 400 has a different smaller alternator side cover.
