JUMPING TOLL GATES
« on: June 24, 2021, 06:16:36 am »
Not paying toll is quite popular amongst many bikers , as they feel bikes pay more for the space they use . Now a new fine has been implemented . its R500 per gate or gantry . and they have you on film . so rather pay up than slide past  .

Fine from whom, it's a toll concession and privately managed, so who administers the fine?

There is a fancy mandate that can be given.  You can even apply for it for your own driveway and then the cops can come fine your buddies legally.

If I'm on a big enough trip to warrant taking toll roads, I'll just pay the toll. It's not exactly expensive.
If you're taking toll roads on smaller trips, especially on a bike, then you're doing it wrong.

But Danie, since you ride a 1200GS, I cant see why you have a problem with this classification... :pot:

We pay the same as a family size SUV towing a trailer

I like it in places like Tanzania.. bikes go free

that demerit system has been coming for years now, ill be 90 by the time they implement it, they say from next month but from what I hear there is still objections being heard as well as the massive corruption which will come from teh authority.. the jury is out

Every toll gate I use have only cameras facing towards you as you enter so no way they can get your registration, unless they changed it now.  :o
