I left while still in lockdown, so I needed a PCR test certificate which is valid for 3 days.
At some point I will cross the border back into France, from Spain and that that stage, the certificate will be useless. I had no specific plan for this issue, except for finding a non-manned path through the mountains somewhere..

Non-essential travel in France is not allowed between 23:00 and 6:00
The travel restriction in France had me 'camping' out amongst the truckers on the border on Belgium/France.

First bad choice:
Choosing the more frugal Mercedes over my Touareg :bueller:

Trying to squeeze my almost 2m frame into the back of my Merc was a challenge but possible. Soos jy weet @Noneking , eks mos double jointed  :lol8:

Woke up at 5 and after a semi-hot coffee, I hit the road with great anticipation as I've never been in France before  ;D

Nooit, at his lodging(s) there IS signal - this is Europe remember?
Even the fridge there is connected, it actually orders what you need!
Hope all's well, the dude is riding alone after all, and not scared to go remote and/or difficult...  :thumleft:

The days plan was to basically head West.

I was jamming a Mid-Soft MC360 rear and started to worry about how it might hold up..

The Reservoir of Barasona:

There are huge catfish in these dams. I watched an episode of 'River Monsters' where the dude caught one of the beasts.
Apparently a species of catfish, indigenous to Germany (cold), made its way here (warm). The all year warm weather meant they feed more and grow to massive sizes.

This section was a lot of fun

By this time, the rear shock was driving me mad! It was way too harsh everywhere and I decided to 'set' the sag.

I used a long stick, to measure the sag with the rear wheel on the ground and off.
By making a notch in the stick, I could guestimate the situation.

Instead of 30-35mm static sag, the sag was over 70mm  :o

Baboon-tuning the sag into spec with long nose pliers and a rock

following my pitstop, my riding experience got vastly improved and I had a jol!

Making my way to the night's camp site, the scenery once again changed into something that resembles Colorado:

Hard to believe that this measuring pole is used to indicate the depth of the snow in Winter months

It was kak-hot
