PCR tests at Vioolsdrif?
« on: July 07, 2021, 08:01:19 pm »
Anyone know whether PCR tests available at Vioolsdrif coming from SA to Nam?  If so, is it done reasonably quickly?

PCR and quick cannot be used in the same sentence unfortunately.

Hmm, trouble is we are in Springbok on a Friday, which means we may not get the results as quickly as we'd like.   Must be some other test at the border, not PCR.  Jeez, in the past the biggest question was what tyres to use.. ::)

No.  Nam requires a negative PCR test not older than 7 days, so get it in time where you reside or nearby, unless you are traveling longer than 7 days to Vioolsdrift.

Coming back to SA, you can get tested on the SA border side for re-entering.  Namibia does not require any exit tests.  :deal:

Thanks for that.  Sounds like the test results we will have for entry to SA at CPT will be current enough by the time we get to the Namibian border.
