New tyre on the way
« on: July 22, 2021, 02:41:30 pm »
I saw a YT video this morning of a new Heidenau K60 Ranger Adventure dual sport tyre that will be available from 2022
The tread looks interesting and it does not have the solid centre strip anymore
Sorry, I do not know how to insert the video

I want my 2 1/2 minutes back. Completely meaningless video.
Looks interesting though; the links on the side lugs should help when leaning right over on tar so there's that. Only real-world tests will give any info worth paying attention to.

Video was a waste, as indicated....

But I am a Heidi fan on bigger bikes, have not dared put one on the X-Challenge, the centre strip will just cause k@k....

So this might be an option, perhaps......

I got nearly 20,000km out of a K60 rear on my Transalp but yes, lots and lots of the wrong kind of fun the moment the tar was wet...

I just don't get this , what is more important , having a tyre that gives great mileage or one that has the grip when it is needed .
For me the grip is imore mportant which might explain why I don't use Heidi's , apart from the fact that they also tend to be disgustingly expensive .

Yes, useless video in which you can barely even see the tyres never-mind the tread.  :o  The tread though does not seem very deep from the still pics like many of these type of tyres presently. The stabalizing tabs on the side blocks should prevent some flex but once reached will not help except as wear indicators. As noted only actual seat time will tell.

OK that sounds fine - 12mm is pretty average. Will be good to see how they work in SA conditions and also on lighter bikes.  :thumleft:

I got 10 000km out the back tyre on my sidecar with a K60. That's good enough for me.
