Introducing "Johnny Bravo"
« on: August 21, 2021, 10:34:36 am »
So let me introduce you all to "Johnny Bravo", the newest edition to the family.

It is a 2006 DRZ400E with 4128km on the clock. I picked it up in Heidelberg a few weeks back and dropped it off at Off-road Cycles so that Runner and his team can give it, it's 1st official service since the PDI.

The reason for the low mileage is that the bike stood in a shed for +- 8 years and was recently taken out again when the owner's son was big enough to start riding. The son took over the bike, fitted a LR tank, replaced the original spark plug, chain and sprockets as well as new D606 tyres but he only did around 450km before I bought it. (reason for changing the sprockets is that he wanted to start using it to commute with, thus the smaller back sprocket.

When I brought the bike home from Off Road Cycles last week and showed my wife, I initially gave the bike the name Suzi Q but my wife insisted it must be Johnny Bravo, so that is his name ;D ;D

When I dropped it off at Runner I also asked him to send the seat to Deon Korkie to widen it a little and make it a little more comfortable. It also got Case savers as I heard the casing is soft and this would protect it. I also added a aluminium bash plate, but other than that I am keeping it as is. I also got the original sprockets, tank, shrouds and a Hyde Bash plate included into the sale.

I am looking forward to taking this little gem out and introducing it to some gravel when I get some time

Awesome little bike Porra, great bike in fact.
Just because your past did not turn out like you wanted it to does not mean your marriage will not be better than you ever imagined it could be.

Very nice Norbs.
What did Deon charge for the seat conversion?

Thanks G-man and you do not want to know the cost. Having said that, the workmanship is exquisite
