So left my old “hometown” for 6 months yesterday.

For so long this was where I would have settled down.

Start a new life raise my kids. Unfortunately my family missed family and Friends too much.

Oh and it rained, alot 3500 mm from Jan - May this year.

It was rather emotional for me leaving Mission Beach this morning.

My wife and kids is far, far away back in Africa and we had many great memories here.

It pissed down so I couldn’t stop for pictures.

So here is some from the area during our time here.

Ek is babbelas en hartseer. Ek mis my kinders en besef my Aussies plan het toe nie gewerk nie.

Ek ry tot by my pel in Mareeba.

Hy ry so stadig hy maak nie stof nie. Hy wil my oorreed om om te draai dit is vreeslik vertel hy my.

Musgrave station vinnig brandstof gekry

They certainly make a big deal of the old telegraph track. The original telegraph line was only about 1.8m high. There was no traffic to pass underneath and that height was convenient for a man on a camel to do repairs and maintenance. The pictures you posted earlier of your time in Mission Beach I'm sure would have had a lot of members looking at the Australian Visa page but the coral trout your son was holding would also be the envy of a lot of Airlie Beach locals, they are pretty well fished out here in the Whitsundays.

PS: They call Cape York "going to the tip" here just like we "go to the roof" but I often have to work out if they are going North or going to the rubbish dump.

Yes Ian it is a great track. They said it will take met 2-5 days. I started the OTT at 10:48 and finished at 15:30 at Nolans which is the last crossing. Cars flooding and damaging motors is coming.

I am just keeping it constant. Need a tyre now.

Gister was ‘n rowwe 610 km .

Hulle los hom nou so.
