I think I'll side with you on this one! If it says Private property. you should respect that!

I agree, My Gramps (RIP) had the same problem. The fact that the road is on a map is no more significant than say having your complex's road on your map-set. Will you ride through a estate just because it it on the map?? A little respect goes a long way.
But for me, it's like a night out with a porn star, every time I press that starter button. Schneller! Schneller! Tiefer! Ja, ich bin geil! Ich komme!  >:D

Hmm another point... I wonder how and why your road got on the GPS?

Most mapping is done from sat photos. Like google earth is just a phuck load of pic's stitched together, same way your estates roads got on there.
