So at 01h30 this morning my alarm goes off. The alarm beam only covers the garages and workshop, so I know there's gonna be sh!t there. There is also not a siren outside, but rather a "control station" that we can carry around in the house.

Anyway, down the passage to the laundry where I open the window and start screaming and swearing at these motherf*&)$ng bastards, by which time they've pissed off.

The only thing I can think of, is that they heard the alarm beep in the quiet of the night. Garage door was open about a half meter..., just enough for them to see that both bikes are in front of the car.

I guess the bikes will be moving inside the house just now, and will have to sleep there until we move

Oh ja, this is not too long after the tenant's bike was stolen fom the plot. These cnuts even used the same portion of the pallisade to get into the plot... ergo... same bunch of bastards!

Some people just can't leave alone what's not theirs! Glad they didn't manage to take anything, but the idea that they wanted to is enough to make a man set up some booby traps!

Glad that they did not get the bikes, but it is not nice!
Unfortunately they are nowadays so brazen that they are likely to come back and try again!
Be safe!

Booby traps... that thought has crossed my mind on a number of occasions. The only down-side to that is that I'd end up as a guest of the talking hat, and his equally crap-useless cronies. And I seriously diubt that the same f&^k that set Zuma free would entertin my reasons for said booby trap  >:(

EDIT: Bikes will be moved this morning to a safer location...

The buggers... gooi some sliding bolt locks on the inside of the doors, one on either side near the bottom, I did this after an attempt when I lived in Jozi, inconvenient but works well, I thought about fitting a remote controlled solenoid powered bolt lock but also moved before I got around to it.

Sadly we have no constitutional rights to take law into
our own hands, But those who do, are unwilling/inept.
There is no future in SA for us.
You have to make your own life a misery in order to
safe keep what is rightfully yours. That isnt a life I
want to live.

How about a plank with long nails (facing up of course) buried near the boundary wall/Palisade where the okes enter the property.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Nee, dan is jy in die kak soos die Colesberg boere wat enkel hoogte draad span in die hoeke van hul skaapkampe... doen niks aan die skaap nie maar laat diewe neerslet op die penne... much frowning was done by the SAPS...

Blikkies, if I could, I would; but it means I'll be sleeping in the garage too, which may not be a bad idea... I get grumpy when I'm woken up for kak reasons like this.  Only have the main doors

Dankie Johan @Dorsland ... ons is ook bly. Bikes slaap nou binne die huis... het my kantoor omskep in 'n vinnige man-grot  :imaposer:

Just put some big empty metal cans or bins with lots of body metal shit in it on a bench close to the door. If they open the garage door then it will fall to the the ground with lots of noise.

Or boobytrap some recording with a trigger with gunshots or something like that.  That should get the attention

My second mtb - the high end stuff as I use to race...was stolen from my garage 2 weeks ago in Somerset est..
I am also making some plans now.

So, In the Elgin region (remote area between mountains, zero lights but close enough to informal settlements and shoppers...), the farmers installed potent pepper spray devices into pump houses and switch rooms..This is linked to intruder alarms which is not very expensive.
It reduced cable and metal theft big time in this area.
Maybe it can work in a garage as well? - basically it disables intruders long enough so that you can get to them... ::) >:D
I know it works...one of our guards entered a switch room without disarming the device ...
Apparently it is legal..
