Some time ago farms in my area had their bakkies stolen out their garages while they slept. Especially farms close to major roads. My BIL had a large chain cast in his garage concrete floor and chained the rear axle to it. Sad that it comes this crap :dousing:

During the early 80's I stayed in Norkem Park, Kempton Park.  The standard procedure of car thieves was to steal the car, take the valuables like radio/tape, mag wheels and tyres, all tools if any and then set the car on fire.

I stayed in Norkem from 1987 to 2000. On my way home one afternoon I came across a bunch of cop cars about 3 houses up from me. Turns out the nob who lived there was a car-theft / highjack kingpin.

High walls and a solid gate meant he could park cars in the yard without them being seen from the street.

Ek lees niks in die media van enige lynching wat in Benoni plaasgevind het nie @TrailBlazer.  Ek neem aan die moere was nog nie weer terug nie?

As the title says... The alarm triggered about an hour ago, but they didn't get to the garage because I was awake and started my screaming / swearing / ranting exercise... My lungs and voice are clearly better than any other deterrent  :imaposer:

Dankie Tom. Ja, ons is ok, maar ek dink hulle gaan bly terugkom totdat hulle besef die bikes is nie meer in die garage nie.

TB, how sure are you they want your bikes and not something else?

@Mapog ... pretty sure it's the bikes. They stole my tenant's bike about two weeks back, and they were in my garage 3 days ago. They obviously saw that I've chained the bikes to moerse big steel brackets with thick chains. I think last night they may have come back with bolt cutters, but the bikes were no longer in the garage.

They are rather active in the area, and last night made off with a generator, a bike and some workshop tools, from 3 different plots in the area. A few nights back they even took a trailer from a plot

I am normally awake and behind the computer from about 3 in the morning... seldom sleep later than that. This mornjng, despite the fact that the kitchen light, and my office light were on, they still tripped the alarm.
