Fun on 500's
« on: October 11, 2021, 08:41:11 am »
Some pics from the riding we did this weekend.

Three of my riding buddies from Pretoria and Rustenburg came to stay with me in Hilton and do some riding in the area.
I don't think Carel and Dawie are on the forum, Shaun lurks occasionally under the forum name of Bullet. All 3 own KTM 500's, are great riders and enjoy exactly the kind of riding that I like.

Saturday morning we left Hilton early and headed through Taylor's Halt and Ncwadi towards Richmond and the Umkomaas Valley

On top of a grassy hill outside Taylors Halt, some burning going on in the forest below

How can I be lost if I've got nowhere to go?

Very cool JonW , been contemplating a 500 for some time to add to the paddock.

At one stage Shaun and Carel were up ahead and I was following Dawie, when I heard a muffled shout off to the side of the track as I sped past.

Out of the corner of my eye i saw Shaun lying stuck under his bike right off the path, Dawie had ridden past without seeing him.

Anyway, Shaun was fine and the two of us got his bike back up to the track without too much trouble.

Some more great off road exploring before heading back to Hilton along forestry roads.

Decided to stop off in Byrne at the Oaks Hotel for a late lunch. I was a bit dubious about stopping there due to previous bad treatment by the asswipes in charge of the place, but seems like it is under new management and the current manager couldn't have been friendlier  :thumleft:

Flip dit lyk nou lekker! Yes! Sal like om so te kan ry :)
Maar soek 'n bike wat nie elke 2000km gediens hoef te word nie :-P
As dit moet, dan sal ek maar my F800gs in ruil vir 'n Honda 300 if all else fails  :ricky:

Ek het gekyk na die KTM 500 wat hier op WD te koop is en soortgelyke fietse maar hul onderhoud lyk baie meer. EK soek iets wat ek elke 10 000km hoef te diens om die algemene kostes laag te hou.

Wou die nuwe Honda 450 oorweeg maar toe ek hul diens intervalle sien toe hou ek maar verby.  En ook sedert my gewig die fiets se maks gewig oorskry  :imaposer:

Don't be so dramatic Shaun, we would have come looking for you is you hadn't turned up in Hilton by the next day, and by then you could have sawn your trapped leg off with your biltong knife  :laughing4:
