Yes we cannot afford a holiday home, but this is where you show us how you spend R100's of R1000's to live like the homeless.

Show and tell us about your camper, whatever it may be.

So boswa (woonwa) is nou op kortlys.

Thanks Roddie, it is actually a disused DC9 fuselage which looks like a airstream, all I know is it weights about 3500kg and it looks flippen cool.

My Syncro was built on dreams for days gone and fter maybe slightly over cooking the Syncro build life changed for us.

It was a massive struggle with service providers to just get the job done right like they were paid to do, in the end I nearly gave in to just tow a 4x4 caravan through Botswana with the Treg. Miraculously I got the Syncro together and it made an incredible trip.

Unfortunately this brought me to realise that a specialised vehicle can really only be maintained to a high standard if you do the work yourself, I am not in a position to do that so sadly sold it and settled for a more normal approach,  a bakkie.

We had a next level trip through Botswana - pictures below.

When we were looking at caravans that were rugged and comfortable at the same time as well as something we could use as a ‘tiny home’ when we are in RSA we settled on the Mobilodge. Whipping out 600k for a caravan that I could not even demo or test for a weekend was not an option.

Kampi.co.za was born to cater for people wanting to try out camping and experiencing different trailers and caravans and we got this instead, very very happy with it.

I have never own a Syncro, but have spent a week with one in Namibia (1986). Impressive vehicle. I cannot recall hearing any Syncro owner saying anything bad about them.

That setup on the Ranger looks very good. Looks like it may be having a good go at the holy grail of overlander camping: compact but everything accessible.

Thing is that most folks want to take everything with them. We did family trips for 3 to 4 weeks all over south and east Africa in a Landcruiser 80 station wagon. Two RTT on top, and everything else in the rear packing space of the Cruiser, including a 40L Engel fridge.

Love the camping as well.  Moved from an trailer with trailer tent to a small 3 berth caravan for me and the Boss.  Was gatvol with the up and down on the ladder when I'm gesuip and have to go for a piss + the amount of time it takes to setup.... NO THANKS not again.

Now with the small caravan, it's 1,2,3 and all done.  Have a leisure awn fitted and don't even worry about a rally tent or even full tent.

Ry so 11 uur se kant.

Dolores die Gypsey, Olive die Patrol, die Lang Blond en Ek.

Dolores is 'n (ek dink) 1983 Gypsey 4B wat ek (OK eintlik my seuns, eks bang ek breek my naels) omskep het in 'n tipe semi gravel roader, 15' wiele, sterker as, en oral so bietjie sterker gemaak, binne is haar kaste als uitgehaal en met canvas vervang, en dies meer. HEERLIKE, maklike, cheap vantjie, en sleep soos 'n droom, BAIE lig.

Awesome Foursome coming up :snorting: :snorting: :lol8:

Daai karavan lyk baie oulik omskep Petri.
