If anyone is in the market for a rugged Gen 1 KLR adventure bike, and are able to maintain a bike themselves (as a KLR requires), then you may be interested in this.
2004 model. Pink plastics removed and black plastics off a 2007 model fitted (apart from the tank shrouds which is painted over).
Features include: 685 Schnitz Big Bore (done about 3000km's ago). Proper thick Rumbux luggage and crash bars, Eagle Mike doohicky installed by Groenie, Racetech upgraded shock spring (to carry my bulk), raptor manual fuel petcock conversion, clutch and sidestand switches removed, swingarm and linkage bearings replaced (by me), swingarm bolt removed and greased, Tweetie removed, neck bearings replaced some time ago, extra clutch cable routed and fitted alongside the existing one, handguards, topbox, OEM toolkit etc, etc.
Registered and licensed. Bike is in Pretoria.
