Morning all.

It looks like my 250 Djebel has a lazy alternator.  The battery doesn't last more than a month before it's kinda flat.  Then if I charge it with a charger, it's good to go again for a couple of weeks.

Any idea where and how I can get it checked out somewhere in JHB (West Rand preferably)?

Thanx!

Ek is nie 'n auto electrician nie, maar my ander Suzukis lees net so oor 14V. Die een selfs 15V. ;)

As hierdie lesing net bo 12V is, is dit nie genoeg nie. :(

:thumleft:

What exactly is the damage to the tank?

I have revived a few rusted DR 200 tanks.

Maybe a good clean and epoxy coating will do the trick!

Hi guys/girls,

I'm in the market for a Suzuki Djebel 250XC.

1.  Are there someone still importing these into SA?
2.  Any for sale currently or in the near future?

Please email me at: adelbert.champeon@gmail.com

Thanks, A.  :thumleft:

The bike seems to be out of production. The fairly similar (same frame and engine) DR-Z 250 is still available overseas.

Thanks to the combined idiocy of our government and bike importers you can't register these bikes any more in SA since it does not comply with Euro4 standards.
Means no one imports them and no one will import then at any time in the future.

Our one and only hope currently lasts on the Aussies which apparently plan to follow suit and kick non Euro4 compliant bikes out of the market. This MIGHT push the manufacturers to upgrade some older models to comply. It's relatively easy with liquid cooled designs like the DR-Z400 and KLR650, more tricky if possible at all with air  / air oil cooled designs like the DR650SE and DR-Z 250 Djebel250XC.

The Djebel250XC afaik never was sold by Suzuki SA but was only available as a parallel import. There are not too many around. Most people who have one are very happy and thus even fewer are offered for sale.

Thank you LeCap - maybe I need to look at similar 250cc like Yamaha and Honda?   :thumleft:

Hi,
has anyone got a wiring diagram for a 250 Djebel that shows 2 diodes? The DRZ250 shows one. This is a Japanese market Djebel, 2001. I have a spare diode on a DR350 but I'd like to know which wiring it's involved in. It's close to the starter and sidestand relay,
cheers

Hi

I've got the full service manual in digital format if you want.  Had a quick look through and it's got some wiring diagrams.  Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but having the manual can only help.

If you're interested, PM me a dropbox link where I can upload it to for you.

Hi all,
thanks for advice etc.
The pickup coil was dead...replaced that and away she went, just like new...nearly. Maybe the sidestand switch is also defunct so I jumped the connection to that. The diode is the same as that on DR350s or lots of Suzukis.
All happy!

Valve clearance is reg, timing is reg. Ek vermoed hy loop te lean wat my by die carb uitbring. Dis dieselfde carb as die Djebel 250 XC (pumper carb).

Kyk of jou float level reg is.
