The bike should cruise happily at about 100 and get up to 120 or so. One source on the web hereclaims 135km/h which I think is not realistic for a 16kW bike unless you ride down a mine shaft (or down Sir Lewry's Pass in a howling Southeaster which gives you similar results :D )

Hi there, new to the site but I own a couple Djebels and my 250 XC does 140 kph and I recon if I take the wing mirrors off and streamline myself on it I would hit 150, but 140 is definate, even accounting for a ten per cent tolerance on speedo acuracy thats still fast.

I love my Djebels, a 200 Se11 and a 250 XC.

My 200cc For Touring SE11 isn't registered yet, does anyone know if it's easy enough to identify the model year? I believe the vin numbers are diferent on the japanese own market versions so I don't know, anyone who does please let me know. Thanks Everyone.

I recently bought the Djebel that Runner advertised for my wife, Having said that I had a 250SE upside down version that was stolen in 05 together with a KLR. I cried more for the DR.

I read this thread through and from the info gained here, her Djebel is one of the first ones to come out. a Djebel XC RS model, oil cooler, 17 lt tank and old analogue speedo, bout 95 model, you can see it on the brake lines. But it cruises happily at 120 with her one, hitting 110km/h with me one, but goes like clappers. It used to be SideTrack's bike pic on the first page, modified by Husky to suit a vertically impaired person. :)
She enjoys it tremendously.

I'm also looking for a original rear rack on the DR, if any one knows of any.

Don't know if your local Suzuki dealer would be able /or willing to help with a quote, but I know for a fact that you do get a rear rack for the Djebel 250 XC that can bolt on and is an OEM part.

Suzuki South in Capetown, have a catalogue of the bike and would be able to get the offical Suzuki part number and would be able to order it for you, but would of course also be able to quote you first.

I can take a pic of the rack on my bike, if you would be interested.......

Een van die regterkant af en een van bo-af.

Die rack is baie sterk en dis baie maklik om bagasie vas te maak
met cargo nets.

Correction:  Djebel 250XC's mill delivers 29.50 HP (21.5 kW)) @ 8500 RPM, not 16 kW

If you are the DIY kind of person, here is some info if you are in need of a lekka bash-plate for the bikes being discussed in this thread.  :thumleft:    Although the diagram is annotated in Russian, the dimensions are quite obvious....  :mwink:

Ek dink so by R450 plus postage, maar sal laat weet.
