Does anyone in South Africa actually have a Djebel 250 workshop manual?
I mean the real thing, not using DR350 or DRZ400 manuals as substitutes

I've researched the valve clearances for the Djebel XC a while ago and found 0.10 - 0.15 IN and 0.20 - 0.25 EX (makes sense).
Checked some Japanese Babelfish translated stuff and it says 0.08 - 0.13 IN and EX (does not really make sense)

What torque do the cylinder head bolts need? Should I do 40Nm as on the rather different DR350 or 46Nm as on the kind of but not quite similar DRZ400. Interpolate

Order a R1k workshop manual from Suzuki once they decide to be available again. (Last order was for a DR200SE, factory back order, six weeks

)
After the Djebel XC received a lot of praise please note the following:
Older models (90's) seem to develop problems with valve stem seals hardening up leading to high oil consumption.
Exhaust valves seem to wear fast.
Timing chains wear quickly too, same as DRZ.
Both timing chain and valve problems might be related to excessively hard riding style. Remember, it's not a 650!
