Desert ride to "Big Red"
« on: January 28, 2009, 01:47:43 pm »
"As I coast to a stop on the top of a dune I look over my shoulder to see where the other three guys are. Oh sheeeeet :o I see Runni trying to get my attention, waving both arms. I swing the pig around and jaag back to where they are waiting. First impressions not good, Graham is on his back and his KTM 520 is facing the way we just came ??? Only thing is there are no bike tracks in the sand, what the......"

Turns out he crested a dune, got airborne did some midair somersaults on the way down. After 15 minutes spent recovering from being winded and hitting his funny bone we are back surfing dunes. This guy crashes well, so does his KTM :thumleft:

No pics of the landing site - Ek het te groot geskrik :eek7:

Not much else to say except - WHAT A BLAST!!!!! I am dead tired now and as soon as I finish this beer I am taking an afternoon nap...

ps "Big red" is the name for big dune we were on

Enjoy ;)

sheez that looks like fun!

Don't you get tired of riding in the sand? don't you miss some hard stuff or wet?
There are no short cuts to anywhere worth going!
Performance is paramount, niceties only exist if it doesn't affect performance.

Don't rush it, it's helmet time you need, not a destination. Take it easy.
