Guys, I thought I'd share this with you as it is something one does not see every day. It is not bike related but still an interresting sight. Kingsly Holgate calls it the "Bay of Wrecks" I dunno if there is an official name for the place, but it is a bay, just north of Luanda where about 20 to 25 ships were beached, when the Portuguese had to flee Angola about 30 odd years ago. Most of the ships have been stripped bare by the locals, but some looks like they are ready to weigh anchor and sail away. One gets a very earie feeling around this place.
It is said that the Angolans wanted to take over the ships. The Portuguese were not about to hand them over, but they also did not have enough fuel to get away, so they decided to beach them.
