That HPN engine is so quite and smooth. Sounds so clean.

Hey Andy what a fantastic ride you planned!  man that was the worse track that I have ridden in my few months off-road. I hadn't expected such deep sand in the cut-backs and so steep as well ! I was wide -eyed with wonder  :o at the hectic track and respect for the awesome ability of you guys  :hello2: . I was inspired to go home and start saving for knobblies straight away and to start practising !!

What a nice bunch of guys you all were !!, and esp thanks to Kamayana, KTM bigger and Pantsula for the help .  :love10: :love7:

ps see you soon on a less hectic ride :)

pps why don't you come to Nelsons Creek this week-end , the orange ride is also quite tough going up and down a steep mountain near Wellington and then there is the 'dreaded' red route , only for smaller bikes as its soo hectic !

That was the first time i ever rode a GS1200 and what a nice bike. Felt as if the gravel road was tar road and made things so smooth. Thanks for the short spin rynet, see you next time. :ricky:

Great work Michiel.

I wonder where that road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. Appologies to Mr Frost

Great video`s Michiel and Kamanya.

Kamanya the video of the trails are really good.
Gives a good idea of how rugged they were.

Lekker vid, Michiel.  Who is that amazing rider on that HPN?  That's just the coolest style ever.

Altus Pienaar was on the HPN. I don't know his forum name but he restores these bikes to better than original condition.

Thanks for the compliments on the videos, thanks for the participation.

XT660R have put together a killer ride. I woke up Monday morning with every muscle in my body aching.
Being in the back might seem to be where the action was but seeing so many bikes lying on their side is not good for moral added to that the fact that I had to use a lot of my limited energy resources to help push other bikes up the hill.
Fortunately the HPN does make things real easy with the low down torque and centre of gravity.

For the guys that posted pics and vids, great show but I must say that it does not really give the true feeling of how tough it was getting up that first hill. The inclines always seem more steep in real life and when you add dehydration, dust, humidity and a baking sun to the images it is very different scenario all together.

All in all I enjoyed myself plenty and had a fabulous first ride with the Wild Dogs and thanks for the compliments from Kamanya and Michiel.

agree 100% on what you said and sorry that you had to help pushing my bike out of that sandy rut up the hill ;D. Thanks for all the advice and help I've received from you and others except AntonW :laughing4:! Hope see you around soon!

Nice ride.

Which farm did you enter first?

I grew up in that area and my dad's farm was somehere near the cross. I often rode up the mountain from the front as seen in the circle. Near the jail.

There is no jail on or near this side ofPaardeberg and this pic is about 30 km from Mamsbury .
Paardeberg jail is on the Northern side of the Mountain .Thats the farmer who wont let bikes go up "His road"
