FIM Superbike World Championship 2009
« on: February 26, 2009, 10:34:36 am »
1st race of the season on Sunday 1 March at Phillip Island.
And because it's in Australia, the race will start on SuperSport 2 at 01h30 (AM)...  :P

Does anyboby know if SuperSport will rerun the race at a later stage?  On which SuperSport channel?

They normally have a re run of the races on the Monday night after the race. Most of the time on SS 5 or 6

Im very keen on the underdogs, Xaus & Corser on the new BMW

Also gagging to see what Biaggi & Nakano can cook up with that tasty new Aprilia V4...

But I think Haga will probably run away with it on the 1198 Duc

I think SBK is gonna be more exciting than GP this year...

Lets see.

Also cant wait to go see them live at Kyalami in May!!!!

Thanks,
I checked and it doesn't seem to be re runned again... ???  All you see on SS is soccer, soccer, soccer, and soccer. I'm sick of it.

I haven't decided yet on who I'd like to see winning the whole season, but for Phillip Island I'd watch Johnny Rea on his CBR (his fastest lap was 1m 31.8 ).  I know, he's just a boy but he seems to be very promising on that track.

Yeah, I'd like to see Haga on the podium.
The Motorrad team seems to be doing quite well during the tests, but that RSV V4 will have to prove itself.  I'm not a Biaggi fan.

Are you going to Jo'burg for the 17 May?

Motogp is slightly in trouble, the fans are tired of the non-existant race fights.  Many are switching to WSBK, I don't blame them.

Imagine if Rossi would turn his back on Motogp and races Biaggi on WSBK?  That would be a massive blow to Motogp.

+1, even Rossi admitted recently that WSBK is more exciting than Motogp.
But let's see what that 1 tyre rule will do to the race.

Here's the first comments from Biaggi and Nakano on the RSV4: http://www.aprilia.com/en-US/News/11433/interview_kyalami_eng.aspx

If that RSV4 proves itself in WSBK, then it might be my next bike... someday  ::)

For those who might be interested, SuperSport 5 will re-run the Australian race:
- Tuesday 3 March: 15h30 - 17h30
- Thursday 5 March: 16h00 - 18h00

Why can't they show it later in the evening?
Answer: to make me purchase a PVR, of course!

Ben Spies on the new R1!!! Pasop!

Would be nice to see the Aprilia up too, irrespective of the pilot.

I feel Haga might join the likes of Slight, Mamola and Chili as the best never to win a title.

Awesome racing!!!

1 for Spies & 1 for Haga...

Pity Max went off on the last lap, going from a possible 3/4th to 15th

I was very impressed with the new Aprilia, seems to pull like a train.

The BMW's were also not bad for a 1st outing. 2nd Race didnt quite go their way though.

Its gonna be a great year.

What do you guys think about the new superpole format? I think they are complicating things...

I only managed to watch superbike race 1 in live.  Then I fell asleep while watching McCoy on his 675 on the supersport race...  I'll catch it during the week.

That v-twin Haga vs in-line 4 Neukirchner battle on race 1 was a classic.

+1, it doesn't seem to be popular among the racers as well!  Some of them admitted to be totally confused.

Max is finished!!! He's never recovered from the the Rossi years and does look as if he ever will.
Don't look back, that's not where you're going.
