Great RR!

Does Katberg Pass go from Wittlesea to Seymour? What Pass did I ride then?

I'm planning a foray into that area again soon.

Wittlesea to Seymor Tar is the Nico malan Pass.
Katberg pass is just above Katberg on the road to Whittlesea, after which you get Devils bellows pass.
We just came from the top down. If you view the route in T4 africa and zoom in you will see the pass names.

Thanks Thump. It runs between Wittlesea and Balfour. My mistake.

On my way to the Hogsback Bash I rode Katberg Pass and I believed it to be one of the worst I've ridden. Now I see the bad part was not part of Katberg at all.

See on this screenshot. There is a road that turns West out of Katberg Pass and runs along that valley. That is the bad road I was talking about. What is that road called?

I don't know the road name but it goes through the Retief conservancy and heads into the Post Retief area.
I had originally planned to ride that area but we ran out of time.
Will definately go back soon.
attached is the route I want to explore
I worked in the area 20years ago and would love to just ride around and explore the roads that arn't on mapsource. :ricky: :ricky: :ricky:

Awesome report man,

especially the the last day! Here in the WC, it becomes very difficult to ride as soon there is a sign that reads Game or Nature Reserve!

You must have had fun getting up here. Had to help push a mate up here once.

Awesome place to be, the Transkei. Why no pics of you owes sitting on the hill tops with long Carling quartz in hand?
