Same here. The Airwolf helicopter and KIT were on a tour in SA in the later 80's at one of our famous chain stores. I sat in the Pontiac and KIT talked to me. I also wanted to go for a flip in Airwolf but my dad said "They want how much for 5min!?" and that was the end of that.

I was a huge fan of Airwolf, with Ernest Borgnine and Stringfellow Hawk (Jan Michael Vincent), but I didn't ever get to see the helicopter that I remember, so you topped me there.

I recall going to see Airwolf in the 80's as well. Dad packed us into the car and drove for what seemed to be hours to get to the chain store that was hosting them. We arrived and were amazed through the car window at the chopper - then we climbed out and i noticed the front wheel was flat. !!!! FLAT - I was so disappointed with that FLAT wheel that the whole thing was then just a moot event for me. I still feel that disappointment today

Anyways....as far as KIT goes, I know a chap who owns one here in Gauteng, signed by Knight Rider and all........pity he doesn't look after it very well, but it still talks

During the time Airwolf was here it was parked at Rand Airport and I slipped through security to take pictures. I'll have to dig through 1000's of negatives to find those pics again.

I was old enough to know it wasn't real but the mashine gun barrels etc. looked very fake from closeby, like it was a quick Friday afternoon job.
