Hi,
I've had endless troubles dealing with BikeZone.co.za and I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. I might even have been scammed by them.
I've been trying to get a set of Barkbusters for my Dakar since early Feb. Initially I emailed Harold at Bikegear and he told me that stock only arrives end of March. I have subsequently purchased a set of crashbars from Bikegear and the service from Harold is nothing short of excellent, so I should have been patient and waited until end of march. But, as my Dakar was undergoing accident repairs at Bavarian Motorcycles, I wanted to get a set of Barkbusters before end of March, so I Googled to see if I could find someone who might have stock and found BikeZone.co.za.
What follows is the saga of dealing with these guys at Bikezone.co.za
Feb 19: Emailed them to find out if they have stock of barkbusters for
2007 Dakar.
Feb 20: Reply from Jacques with pricing, I reply with confirmation to
order and check that supplier has stock for Dakar but if he can
get them I will take them.
Feb 24: Reply from Jacques with confirmation that he can get the last
set available. I figure that maybe the distributor (Bikegear)
keeps some stock reserved for resellers, which seems fair.
Jacques will order and have it in Pretoria early the following
week.
Mar 18: After numerous phone calls, Jacques confirms that he has the
Barkbusters and I eventually receive an invoice which I pay
immediately and arrange for delivery to Bavarian directly as I
am due to collect the Dakar on the weekend. Jacques agrees to
deliver them to Bavarian.
Mar 20: The Barkbusters have still not arrived at Bavarian so I contact
Jacques and he tells me that are ion their way there via
courier. I assume that that within Pretoria they should be
delivered same day. Not the case.
Mar 25: Still no barkbusters at Bavarian. Manage to get hold of Jacques
from Bikezone and he says that he will call them to find out
what has happened. I get hold of him again later and he tells
me he is waiting to hear back from couriers.
Mar 26: Still nothing; phone is off.
Am I over-exaggerating in thinking that I may have been scammed?
has anybody dealt with these guys before? I believe that they have a shop in Rooihuiskraal somewhere.
I am tempted to go and lay a charge of fraud against these clowns.
Cheers
