I have a fair insight into the aftermarket market, and know some of the good and bad, and am not shy to expose the shysters. I believe we all work hard for our money (most of us) and it annoys me when bikers get ripped off. Lets put up these guys on this forum and 'blacklist' them.

Yes - an honest feedback ability which genuinely lets you know of the shortcomings of a particular dealer stealer is a great asset in spending your dolleros.

it is important that we advocate and demonstrate that this forum is open to any person who can provide info, feedback, funny stuff etc in the spirit of this forum up to date. therefore, anyone should feel free to invite a likeminded bud. this forum should never be perceived as being exclusive to a few.

in light of the above we should therefore consider our references to "the other bike site". i know that it is done tongue-in-cheek :shock: (not literally!) but some may perceive us members as being condescending in this regard.

furthermore, any ideas on how we can link with sites like, e.g. flames on my tank, bike sa

Contact them and make a link agreement. If they link to this site, you will put up a reciprocal link

I have just converted www.jouma.com to a phpbb buletin board. To change the phpbb logo to your own logo, just overwrite the images "phpBB-2.0.19\phpBB2\templates\subSilver\images\logo_phpBB.gif" and "phpBB-2.0.19\phpBB2\templates\subSilver\images\logo_phpBB_med.gif" with your own image logo. No coding changes needed.

To do everything else mentioned on this forum, you have to tweak the setting in the admin console. Very very simple. Install a copy on your XP and play with it there, then make the changes here.

Problem is I can't access the hosting control panel from behind the coy's firewall - only the admin function on the phpbb

How about basing the logo design on something like this?

Just a suggestion.

It depicts what we do, where we do it and also shows our first lady on a KLR.

2 choices:

1. use the wilddog logo
2. dual branding - wilddog (they're the sponsors) - plus a new one and/or variation of the wilddog

Me thinks: Like the wilddog logo - strategic value in the affiliation for everyone (which I can't reveal right now but will in future) - I've got the logo in customisable form for slight changes, but I like the whole wilddog (Africa) theme - associated with d/s freedom and the footprint. We can use it in future for stickers :shock:

maybe change the web adress to include the /forum, but theres a big forum link (which currently doesn't work) on the existing site.

I think you can customise it for your own liking - have maybe 2 or three options available, then choose yourself?

One small suggestion if I may: How about making it mandatory to register and be signed in before you can post? Postings as "guest" might just be inviting trouble...
