One on the highlights for me had to be the "Mullet Man", I was sobbing with laughter and even on my may home kept kept giggling to myself everytime I thought of him
Gauteng has "Vernon Kokemoer" West Cape has "Mullet Man" we want a hero of our own in the East Cape.

He was sporting a mean Germiston Gerbil... Business on top & party at the back, my broe...

And man, oh man, could he play a mean air guitar!!!!

I just had to "pose" for a pic with him...

I believe Edgy has the proof...

:laughing7:

Mullet Man for Pres!  Post that pic, please.  BTW, I noticed he had a curly-blond understudy.

Thanks to all you guys. Great weekend, which had me Moerengone at times. As for Mullet Man- he just doesnt know how close he came to being taken out. Mike, Drix, George, and myself were stewing up a mean plot to take him out.....keeping his head underwater till the last bubbles were gone. Then we would have had a lekka rock n roll/reggae/blues/metal whatever joll. Seeya next time. E

My god, that DJ was a character.
 ;D

After the ride on sat i went into the bar for a beer. I was the only person in the place - and the DJ is partying up a storm, arms in the air, a grin from ear to ear, looking like he was having the best time in the world.
shame.

Thanks Pete, Andy, Leftless and everyone else involved in the organising, for a perfect event. Just about everything went like clock work and I don't mean ORANGE ;D. My trip started off on Friday morning with XT660 and 9 other dawgs. We had such a cool ride up and managed to stay on gravel almost all the way barring about 50km's. On arriving, we set up our tents and then got stuck into the beers. >:D
On Saturday morning, I left with the first group led by leftless. I think there were 15 of us, but after the first pitstop, the group got a lot smaller. Thanks, Leftless, for leading the ride, the pace was perfect, but I don't think I have ever sucked so much dust in my life before :dousing:
I really cut it fine on the fuel side and had to just about free wheel down the last hill into Clan.
Packing up on Sunday was hell and I still can't understand why my helmet would not fit. For some reason, my head was a lot bigger :dontknow: I eventually got it on and 4 of us pulled out and hit the gravel back home.
All in all, this was one of the best rides that I have ever been on and it was great to ride with some of the old faces and to meet so many of the dogs from out of CT. :thumleft:

TO ALL who organised this event it was great , even JillyK thoroughly enjoyed it and she did not even go on a ride? . Thank you, Thank you  and WHEN is the next one ? One suggestion possibly all meals should be included in the event fee with definite meal times , then the caterers will now how many to cater for and if the riders do not pitch for a meal it is there loss? Just a thought.

Well done .

ROUTE DIFFICULTY:1 = tar
2 = good gravel /pillion friendly
3 = interspersed with sand, mud, sand , bush / not pillion friendly
4 = lots of sand, technical riding
5 = expert only (we are not worthy, still to meet one)

Hey TR

Jan jy nie 'n cd/dvd maak van al jou fotos en video en dan vir Pistonpete/whoever stuur nie?

Dan kan ons Capies copies daarvan maak?

Just a thought?

Ek dink jy het priceless materiaal op daai kamera van jou...

I agree with Pete, that was one of the best rides I have ever had . The ride was a steep learning curve for me and took me quite a bit out of my comfort zone , but I knew the bike could handle it ,if only I could keep my mind quite enough to not freak out totally.  ;)

I started off right at the back but after Ettiene's unfortunate off , I had the road to myself as a group of friendly dogs stopped and assisted Ettiene. I have never seen so much sand, the previous time when I did my solo trip I mercifully did not have much sand. I thought Andy XT 660R had hired a truck to deposit the sand on the track, so we could have more thrills !! Its amazing how sand can " grow" overnight. Fortunately my bike was doing surprisingly well. The loose stuff on the track was so bad ,that I was also convinced I had a flat tyre and in fact I checked my tyre pressures at Cederberg Oasis!

I left Oasis on my own and had a lovely ride through to Wuperthal mostly on my own which was very nice. I met up with PP and a few others under a shady tree at Eselbank for a nice chat and well deserved rest .

Shortly after Eselbank I had a sandy fall on a mound where others bikes had also fallen / snaked. I was the last in our little group of five that let Eselbank. I proceeded to try and pick up the bike but it was going nowewhere. So I just sat on it for a good 5 to 10 minutes and then luckily RovRat came up and lifted my bike. I told him to pass me but he guessed (correctly too ) that I needed someone to babysit me for a while by following me. He told me I could paddle, but I didn't even need to and within minutes I had my groove back.

What a fabulous ride. What a fabulous week -end , what a fabulous bunch of people .

I was very impressed with the group spirit of the dogs as everyone helped everyone else out. It was nice to witness it , and to be on the receiving side of help also.

Speedy recovery to Eedstop and Ettiene ,and good luck to Nivia whose bike broke.

Thanks to all the organisers , recce's ,leads, sweeps , the event was a roaring success , very enjoyable , well -organised and controlled and safe too. Very few incidences.

Thanks especially to the guys who designed such a lovely skills challenge, Esp you Leftless, and also to PP .  And to The Malletjie and Dan the Man for running it on the day. I so wish I had the necesary skills to attempt it, maybe next year

Well ridden Bus and Young Robyn in the Drags  8).

I have met PP , Andy XT 660R and Go Girl before but it was great to put faces to many more names like Doerengone, Crossed -up , Mark H, RovRat, The Priest , Wes , Ebs , Nivea, and too many to mention here.

A great week -end , great spirit ( and spiritis too )  :D

Just want to say thanks to everyone who had anything to do with this weekend!

This was my first time out with the Wild Dogs, well if you can call being right at the back of the red route the whole way "riding with". :P But I wanted something challenging and that's what I got.

Hope to be seeing much more of you all in future.
So when is the next one?
