A lazy Sunday morning ride in search of some flowers
« on: April 05, 2009, 10:29:53 pm »
For those up here in Gauteng, the Free State and Mpumalanga - did you see the cosmos flowers this year? Whow! They are stunning, and out in full bloom. This prompted the ride of this morning.

We went in search of some cosmos flowers, and stumbled on fantastic roads and scenery.  We had no route planned, left the maps and GPS at home and left in the direction of Bronkhorstspruit and Delmas via some dirt roads. Not far out on we saw the first cosmos flowers, they lined the roads as if we were important.

The country side was beautiful.  The farmers are getting ready for the harvest and winter.

At Delmas we stopped at the Wimpy for some coffee, and from there we headed towards Nigel, Devon, Balfour and ended in Heidelberg for a coke before heading home.

Before Balfour we saw this old house. Would be a nice restoration project - the spot is just purrrrrrfect!

It was a great day, made more special with Marina joining me. It was a blast to be out on the open roads, just the two of us.  This was a nice warm-up for our end of month tour to the Northern Cape.

Nice! We may have the roads in the EC but not nice flowers.
Don’t worry about things that aren’t, worry about things that are and your decisions are so much easier to make!

Was thinking about this area a few days ago.
It's a really splendid place to ride this time of year and the roads are always seem to be in great condition.

Something I'd love to do with my wife - just a pity she does not ride

Nice pics of the flowers  :thumleft:

I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

BMW 650 Dakar - don't get to ride it much anymore - my son has claimed it
Aprilia Dosodura 750 - My new bike - I love it
Husqvarna 610 TE (Sponsored) :-)
