Everyone gathered at Colchester before heading along the Sundays River through Addo where we met the Carnivore who heard that we would be have a braai at the Official naming Ceremony of “Drazilville” and could not resist a piece of meat.
We quickly moved on to Alicedale where we had our first stop

We then made our way over the mountain to Riebeek East

Thump and myself saw 4 Springbok including 2 Albino’s run across in front of us, Thump had his camera out quickly but I would have liked a close up photo of them

Thump Dropped his bike here but had it picked up so quickly I did not even have time to catch a quick pic

Views along the ridge

Arriving in Drazilville

Time to chill and have lunch

Drazil our honorary Mayor of Drazilville has suggested we put together a mini bash in Drazilville  ;D

From here EC Trax and myself made tracks as we had to get home while the other dog’s cruised a bit longer

Thanks everyone for a great ride and good company  :thumleft:

Thanks guys for a great ride and new places to see.
Drazilville is now officially on the radar of any rides in the EC

Great braai & still 19 chimneys to go. We make any excuse to dave a good ride as
there are many dirt roads to Draziville.

The puncture repair just shows how exposed to the elements
we are but the support from the Dogs is always there.  8)

Till next time & here is always a next time
Stop talking and start riding

Fugly missed out on a nice outing due to prior comitments >:D
Here are a few pics taken before the ride, the send off of which I did attend.

As usual, I was the self nominated pillion seeker and on departure of the lads, decided to ride elsewhere ;D
Thanks guys, I had a lovely ride >:D

Thanks for picking me up in Addo. Was great to ride with some doggies again.. been tooo long..

So, that was the longest nail I have ever seen (stuck in a tyre, that is...  :mwink: ) - thanks for helping me Mr T, BMWPE and you others, to hold and push and press and .... Regret to report that the fix held only untill 6 km from Kirkwood (where we were camping) and so Drazil summonsed his Heavy and Clean Sister and a bakkie provided the ignominious end of the journey (from the point of view of my fine white stallion). Thanks very much, Drazil, for sticking with me till the end.  :thumleft:

Seems liuke that Fuggit goo and the Tyreweld foam are incompatible with regular patching solution... or else my little yellow tube of Dunlop was not the correct stuff to use. Darn..

Here are the few cell phone pics I took

Drazil hestitating...
Drazil flushed with success..
The braai..
And some arty shots from the Realm of Dereliction..

Old, grey, crafty...

You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes rise to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait, the grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas. Enthusiasts are fighters. They have fortitude. They have staying qualities. Enthusiasm is at the bottom of all progress. With it, there is accomplishment. Without it, there are only alibis.

Making jokes about my KLR amongst all the BM's and all that.  :imaposer: :imaposer:

If I had feelings they would have been sore.

It's so sad to see another go down.. :'(

Shame... :'( :'(

Wednesday drinks on Fugly for loosing his virginity.  :deal: :thumleft:

Pardon me for asking... but what is the story behind the RR and the old battered buildings?

Great riding and pics though!  :thumleft:

Drazil "Discovered" this quaint  place on one of his adventure out rides.
He then put together a Geo braai which we attended. In the process we "annexed" the place & called it Draziville.
And so it is known till this day by the dogs that attended.
I have been pass there again a month ago and it is still a muchness of the same as it has been all the years.
We all still remember Drazil's puddle crossing and can really say he has forged ahead to greater & bigger puddles since then.  :)
Stop talking and start riding

Interesting place!  The old north road used to go through the town.  Then they built the N10 3 km to the west.  Then the rail traffic dwindled too, and the village simply died.  It must have been a jolly place, with the stock holding pens and plots behind.  There's what looks like a cricket pitch and field amongst the plots.  Time for a WD match?

I see the railway approached and left the town via tunnels, north and south of the town.  I wonder if this is the only place like this in SA, or even more widely?

Ironically, the place might have been called Good Hope once, or at least the farm divisions were.
