Misty
Race Dog
With little planning and a great idea GP & KZN finally met forces as Mal and Dee decided that it was time to meet some of their buddies from Richardsbay and invited me, eSKaPe and Red along.
Destination: Newcastle
Attendees: Malibu, Dakota, Red, Misty, eSKaPe, Slashback, Winston, Vic & David
Bikes: 800GS, Dakkie, 650GS x 3, 1200GS, KLR x 2, Transalp
Day 1: Friday
Mal, Dee and Red decided that they were feeling brave (or maybe it was excitement for the great riding to come and they couldn’t sleep??) and departed JHB at 6am heading straight for Newcastle, to meet up with the other 4 from KZN and also to go and do the much needed (and appreciated) shopping for dinner, etc.
eSKaPe and I enjoyed a few minutes more of snoozing and left JHB at 8h30. We headed towards Greylingstad via tar and then went on to gravel to Roberts Drift and on to Vrede, which was the most awesome road to ride (well in fact all the roads we rode this weekend were stunning!). Once at Vrede the tummy bugs took over and we headed towards the infamous Memel Hotel for lunch and an ice cold beer, and also saw one very interesting looking number plate… and also stumbled upon some stray dawgs… Jules, Li & co.
