At least not going to cost me what the Honda xr650r did to get the front suspension working ::) Bloody tried to rattle my fillings loose before i had it properly set up

7/11: What was your final setup, my rear is   :thumleft: and the front better since the Eibach springs added, but still very mushy/dead whatever, thx.

The rear on the XR is not too bad. Can be set-up without any major work on it--unless you are over 95kg. My rear suspension was set up fine until i re-valved and re-shimmed the front forks. When i got them right (Went for a Enduro set-up.)
I had to tweak the back one to get the sag right. Just test it until you get it sorted to your liking. The front--springs aint going to do it. Had to do my XR400 also when i had it. Makes the bike a pleasure to ride then---She floats :mwink:

Thanks, my experience as well, the fork springs were stuffed and was the primary reason for the Eibach springs. My next step is to sort out the stack, like you said, now is the time to tune and test.

Total cost = cheap enough  :deal:

blazes, what really amazes me having once ridden a 450 like that is how old, totally out-dated fat and lazy a bike like the xr is, and yet at the time you actually think that an xr has something going for it........hmmm maybe back in the eighties..
everyone on the site should go test a modern 450.
We miss 100% of the shots we never take.

How can you even compare a 650 desert racer to a modern 450 mx/enduro 4T ? Totally different bikes. All that power from a 450 comes at a price. I like the Husky, nice bike Blazes  :thumleft:
