You question unjust laws.

Riding with the light on is pretty good, makes bikers seen.  "I didnt see you" is the biggest bitch people have against cagers and they switch their lights off.  Doh.

The number plate issue is fine if the thing is readable and you are not doing it to avoid speeding fines.

That's a shit one Bus!

I think, after all is said and done, the issue is... was he making the road a safer place for all?
The answer is no.
A good cop would have pulled you over and said: hey dude, you know your light's not working man. Can i escort you home? Make sure you are safe? Cause no one in their right mind would ride with no light on PURPOSE.
What a twatwaffle.
BMW F650 DAKAR ; BMW 650 X-Challenge ; YAMAHA 660 TENERE ; BMW 800 GS KTM 200EXC. Now - KTM 950 Adventure S, KTM 250 XC-W and BMW 450 Rally

if u are interested in something no matter what it is, go at it full speed ahead, luke warm is no good, hot is no good either, white hot and passionate is the only thing to be...

Why do people cheer when the cops do the same to Taxi's ?

The law says ride with your light on and have a proper plate.

Don't you think you get gatvol pulling people off all the time and they all say the same stupid things?

Shark........I think you would make an excellent traffic cop........you've already got
the correct attitude. :peepwall:

Shit!..

have to agree with Shark again =\

Whats the world coming too, though seriously some good points in this thread.
So much of win it hurts! ^.^

Eish, I'm afraid I'm with Shark on most of the stuff. No lights on a bike is a killer and who of us have not almost shat his pants when a bike (usually scooter) suddenly turns in front of you in the dusk but you nearly did not catch him because the light was off. Small numberplates too is mostly an ego issue. Sometimes the smaller the plate, the smaller the weenie. You know it's not you Bus!

Agree with Bus on the way Mr. Sinclair surprised him with the fine for the headlight. That was downright arrogant, but maybe one gets that way when you have to deal with a bunch of wise guys all day long.

As someone who pride myself on some anarchistic values, I am personally sorry to say that I even agree with the law limiting bikes to a convoy of 5. If anybody has ever been caught behind about 300 Harley riders on the coastal road to Simonstown he'll agree. Even if I ride with others and even if we are more than 5 (god  forbid) we usually leave space between the bikes for other traffic.

Now if we can only have some of officer Sincliar's attitude directed to taxis and drivers of black Nissan Navara's, the roads will become a lot safer.

Nee, AJZ, lees weer my 1ste post.

Ag owens. This is again a case of whos hollier than though. We all know the rules and why they are there. No need to try and make yourself look good or intelligent where common sence prevails.

The fact or point that Bus is trying to make is that some officers are more reasonable than others, and how to deal with these guys.

Maximum of 5 bikes, what stront is that?  IS this an adventure bikers site or morrals for bikers site?

Forgetting to turn on my headlight was never an attempt to defeat the ends of justice. It was a basic that was overlooked. With no cars/traffic in front of me I couldnt see the reflection of my light (or the lack thereof) on their rear bumpers. And it was 5pm, not even close to dusk yet. (CT & all...)

So pulling me off for the light, is it not this man's job/responsibility to inform me of that, seeing that its so unsafe and makes me less visible...? Should it not be more pertinent to make sure that my light works (he never checked) and not just get another soft R200 written for the day?

The man is clearly unreasonable and not suited to be a public servant. Yes, we all have our bad days, but not everyday.

I guess, like most things in this country, most just settle for bad service. Bus decided not to.  :-\

Die owe is n twatwaffle, en hy behoort nie met die publiek te werk nie.  >:(

......on the other hand, Bus has just got that kark stirrer mug. I would fine his ass just for that.

has anyone actually gone to court for ticket like this?

seeing that it says court room this on day that etc etc?

and does the cop have to show up at this court session - seeing as you have to right to confront your accuser in court etc etc?

Not just the airport, Im sure Ganjora doesnt like to be blinded up there either... :laughing7:

You know what bugs me the most?

As Plore says, this dude is actually in a bike club (Nomads, I think it was) and obviously must have his own bike.

What went wrong in this man's life to hate other bikers so much?

I actually wouldnt mind sitting next to a fire with this guy listening to his issues over a beer. I will offer him a willing ear. And I will try to understand his anger. I will be there for him.

And then promptly issue him with a Boere-Slaap-Pil   :evil6:

Plore, you seem to be connected in the clubs-scene...

Cant you fish out some more info on this troubled individual?

Cop that explains mooi

Cop pulls over a taxi.
Cop says: "License please."
Taxi driver says: "What for?"
Cop: "You didn't come to a complete stop at the stop sign."
Taxi driver: "I slowed down, and no one was coming."
Cop: "You still didn't come to a complete stop.  License please."
Taxi driver: "What's the difference?"
Cop: "The difference is you have to come to a complete stop, that's
the law. License please!"
Taxi driver: "Heish .... if you can show me the difference between
slow down and stop, I'll give you my license and you give me the
ticket, if not you let me go and no ticket."
Cop says: "Exit your vehicle, sir."
The taxi driver gets out of his taxi, whereupon the cop takes out
his truncheon and starts beating the kak out of the taxi driver and says:
"you want me to stop or just slow down?"

EISH, DIE COP HY EXPLAIN BAIE MOOI !
Never explain yourself to anyone!
Because the person who likes you doesn't need it
and the person who dislikes you won't believe it !!
