think i saw IR THE LAW yesterday  >:(

it just pissed me off

coming along on the foreshore (their working on the roads so there is almost no space to lane split but traffic is moving okayish)

mr IR THE LAW pulls into the traffic stops 3 lanes of traffic to allow a confederations cup team in their team bus to get into the traffic

he then shoots in front and stops almost all the traffic to get the bus to move through the traffic

that bus moved through peak hour traffic quicker than a ambulance and everyone just had to sit there as no one could move - if a truck could not get out of the lane quick enough he would block the other 2 lanes to make space for the truck to get out of the lane  >:(

FFS if they had to be some place at a certain time they should leave early enough to make it there on time  >:(

OK here goes, guys... Its long, but I need to let it out...

Ok... So to all who gave the guy the benefit of the doubt... i.e. he was having a bad day last time... sorry, this guy is a serial twatwaffle...

Its actually moera funny, and ironic. Today was the first day that I used the bike to commute to work since the last time that he drilled me. And I popped into my Bellville office first thing this morning, to only leave for CT (Greenpoint Stadium) at 9:30... So it wasnt even in peak traffic (where he normally lurks). So Im rustig going along at 120 and as I come past the Monte Vista, I see a cop bike on my left, joining the highway. So I ride past. Still thought to myself: “What if it is THE LAW…?”

He stayed behind me for about 2 km before he pulled in next to me and waved me off. I started pulling off, but then saw a car on my left and waited. So the cop bike then nearly rode into me… At this stage I still thought that I would lekker skinder about Sinclair with this cop, and also ask a couple of questions about him. I laughed out loud when I saw it was actually THE LAW himself.  Don’t know if he heard me. So I take my kit off and get off the bike.

So it starts:

“Licence please?”

I hand it over, this time a proper copy of my washing machine-damaged license. (Found it while moving house…)

I.R. - “So what did you say I was last time, Mr Meyer?”

Bus (looking innocent) - “When, Mr Sinclair…?”

I.R. – “The last time I pulled you over… Didn’t you say I was ridiculous?”

Bus (smirking) – “I said you were a joke…” :whip2:

I.R. - “And did you not also say that I gave all my fellow traffic cops a bad name?”

Bus (grinning by now) - “That is correct, Mr Sinclair… And I also said that you were nitpicking about the headlight issue”

Then he waffled on about the plate again and that I had ample time to replace it. I tried the logical approach that I need a specialist to weld something onto the stainless steel, and not just gonna do a hack-job. And that I have been moving the last week, time was a bit tight… blablabla…

I.R - “That’s not my problem!!”

:imaposer:

So as he walks around my bike he accidentally trips over the front wheel. I try to keep a straight face… :evil6:

So he waffles on about the plate and goes over to his bike. Starts writing in a book, this time an A4 size one…

I go closer and put my hands on the rear blue light of his bike to try and see what he is up to.

I.R. - “Don’t lean on my motorcycle!!!”

Bus – “Sorry dude, Im not scratching or damaging it…”

I.R. – “I don’t care, don’t lean on my motorcycle!!”

Bus – “Why must you have such a bad attitude? You just kicked my bike’s front wheel and I didn’t crap on you”

I.R. – “I didn’t kick it!!!”

Bus – “Yes you did!!! I saw it!!!”

I.R. – “I didn’t kick it intentionally”

Bus – “Aha, so you did then…?”

Hahahahahahaha!!! 2 grown men... Hilarious!!! We had a couple more exchanges, cant remember the exact details.

So I asked him what he was doing. He said it was a court summons or something for the no plate.

So I asked if it was really necessary, I mos explained to him my problem.

Brace yourself, here it comes… “It’s the LAW!!!”  :imaposer: “Im just doing my duty!!”

So I let him finish. While he was writing, I sat down on the Armco barrier.

Bus – “Can I ask you a question?”

No answer, he just stares at me.

Bus – “The last time you pulled me off, what was it for?”

IR – “Your headlight was off… The Law says that…”

Bus (interrupting) – “So is it not your ‘duty’, as a civil servant, to notify me that my light is off before you write me a fine for it?”

IR – “The Law says that…”

Bus (interrupting) – “So is it not more important to let me know that Im riding in a potentially dangerous situation? Is that not your duty? Or is it your duty just to issue fines??”

IR – “I uphold the law and…”

Bus – “No, you nitpick to get an extra fine under your belt!!!”

IR – “You like interrupting people?”

Bus – “Yes, when they are talking nonsense. Why couldn’t you tell me about the light as soon as you pulled me over? Did you not care about my safety? Is that not more important to a traffic officer than anything else… Road safety?”

No answer, he is stumped…

IR – “Its still your responsibility…. Blablabla…”

From there on I didn’t really listen, just started to kit up.

I also asked him why he wouldn’t provide his details the previous time. He replied something about it being on the ticket again. So I said to him Im going to report his bad attitude and unwillingness to cooperate with me. He laughed and welcomed me to it…

I also said that I mentioned his name in biking circles and that his bad reputation precedes him. And that bikers see him as a menace who picks on bikes. He just looked at me.

And then he rode off into the distance…

So I now have an additional R300 fine and a court appearance if I don’t pay it by the date stated…

What really gets me about this whole affair is that I would’ve expected him to stake out the peak traffic bikers. There were almost no other vehicles on the N1 at that time (9:30)… And fate decided that we should meet again.

I mean, it was perfect timing…  :eek7:

Are we cosmically connected in some way…?

Is he my real father? :laughing7:

what's the change of meeting the same cop in CP in 2 weeks? About ZERO! Bus, sell the bike, buy one on your moms name, buy new clothes and grow a moustache. He's got you pinned with his buddies.

Volgende keer sê jy vir IR dat jy weet wie die bliksem met die swart Blackbird sonder nommerplaat was wat twee weke terug vir hom 'n middelvinger gegee het en toe mielies gegooi het!
Miskien kan jy afslag negotiate, of dalk sommer 'n seisoenfine?

Bus... sorry to hear. Go to the court and wait outside for the prosecutor in the traffic court to finish with the days cases. He'll at the very least cut your fines in half.

My bike is fully legal again, (can't say the way I ride is), but I can't wait to get him on my helmet cam.

I am also going to have my cells voice recorder on in my top pocket.

To the legal eagles here - don't speculate if you don't know for absolute certain - Is it legal to record a police officer being a twatwaffle?

If it is not then I suggest that all who meet up with him turn your cells voice recorder on and report to his boss.

I wonder where that gravel road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. (Apologies to Mr Frost)

« Reply #238 on: June 09, 2009, 11:32:25 pm »
Ok after reading this thread I have decided that I am definitely also a d**s.  I have not met Sinclair, so I am limited to what I can read on this thread.  It is easy being a nice cop.  If the taxi association starts to make threats (like often happens) you just wave them by, o he is such a nice cop!   When the bikers start to be threatening (like on this thread, talking of assaulting cops, throwing one of a bridge to get him to become a nice cop) just leave them alone or better still accept a bribe of biltong as is described on this thread.  You can even laugh with your colleagues for the p**pol who stops everybody and goes without biltong.

With policemen the same situation arises.  You get the nice cops who look the other way when the Americans or the Hard Livings do their stuff.  In their eyes the policemen who give them k*k about all kinds of things are the ones that are wrong, have bad attitudes and needs to be sorted out.  They will also convey all kinds of threats to these policemen.

In court you also get the d**s prosecutors like me who do unpopular things like apposing bail, and the serial housebreaker/robber will be very unhappy with this d**s keeping him in custody especially if the prosecutor did more than his colleagues, not just going through the motions.

Now this is where I find myself.  I am often personally threatened, believe me nobody likes this, especially when these threats are against your family.  Perhaps this is the reason I instinctively side with the so-called d**s Sinclair.  I ask myself how I would feel reading a thread like this if I was Sinclair.

It may be that Sinclair needs to work on his human relations. I guess he will also have his side of the story as to this. At least it appears that Sinclair is not corrupt or accepting bribes, he does his work diligently (too diligently according to the perpetrators!) and it seems he has balls doing it regardless of the threats he no doubt receives. That is the kind of attributes I respect.  There were lots of talk on this threat about all kinds of things that can be done to cops and so on.  Let me assure you there is no admission of guilt fine for things like moering a cop.  You will not only lose your firearm licenses, you also have a good chance of going to jail.  So I hope this is just meant as talk and lighthearted “gekskeerdery” from most of you.  Some youngsters reading this might get the wrong idea.

So Sinclair I guess you are reading this, as somebody must have told you of this thread.  Do your job. Try to be nice and frienly while doing so.  If somebody gives you k*k and moers you please PM me. They will meet another d**s.
