KTM 690 Long range tank.
« on: May 27, 2009, 06:07:37 am »
See this on ADV Rider.
It's from Aqualine Australia.

And here is what they say on the website.

KTM 690 Enduro / 690 Enduro R
Litres: 14

Colours: Orange, Black or Translucent White

Fits: KTM 690 Enduro / 690 Enduro R

Bolts straight on with stock seat

Includes: fuel cap, taps, mounting kit, fuel lines and fuel transfer plate

This tank will let you use your 690 as a true adventure bike, giving a combined fuel capacity of 26 litres. The tank fits on as an addition to the original under seat tank. It is straight forward to install and easy to remove and replace for servicing. There are taps to isolate the fuel in both tanks so servicing can be done without the need to drain fuel (fuel must be drained for initial instillation). This capacity over doubles the range (original tank 12L) and has been molded to retain the original KTM styling and look, and gives you a unique, comfortable knee position on the tank.

My 690 gives me a range of 200 km on a 12 liter tank. This will take it to a 450km range. That is 640 adv territory. ;D ;D ;D

With real suspention, real performance motor,a rear rack and now feul range and a  feul cap where you can fill up without taking the rearbag off. I think she is the best thing near a 690 ADV.

Bigger is Better...or so the Mantra goes.

It looks like the business.

Do you fill both tanks from the one cap....I think not.

Question: what is the subframe on the 690 like, will you be able to load the rack?
(The one on the bike looks a bit like a guillotine though)

If I am correct (or what I read), the front tank bleads into the rear one. So if you only need a limited amount you can fill upfront and it will sifer trough to the rear one. That is if you have a bag on the back.

The rear subframe is made to carry a pillion. ( It's got footpegs) So with touratech making pannier racks I think it is strong enought for a bag.
Here is pics with what I have done to my bike.
Front screan i fitted is the KTM one for the enduro.
And as for the saddle.... If I stay off the tar, i dont need to use the saddle.

Can't see the screen, but your rack looks functional.

Is the black tubing necessary, I notice you use a Cargo Bag (Similar here) and I did'nt need the tubing, the plate was enough.

As for the bike... :thumleft:

Any idea on price please?
